The Boomtown Rats - I Don't Like Mondays

Some people hate Mondays more than others. Some of them hate Mondays so much that they use it as a perfectly senseless excuse for perfectly senseless acts, such as shooting random people. Teenage killing sprees are not a product of the late 90s - The Boomtown Rats' major hit single from 1979 is a musical testimony to that. Bob Geldof was inspired to write it following an incident in San Diego, which involved a 16 year old girl killing two and injuring nine persons in an act simply motivated by "I don't like Mondays".
